PEOPLE Around 71% of the population are Creoles of mixed Black African and Portuguese descent while the remainder are almost all Black Africans with a small number of Whites (mainly Portuguese).
RELIGION 93% of the population are Roman Catholic, 5% are Protestant (mostly Church of the Nazarene), and the remaining 2% practice indigenous beliefs
CLIMATE

The Cape Verde islands have a year round temperate climate

Summer: warm and dry (Apr to Sep).  

Precipitation: meager and very erratic (Aug to Nov).   

Winter: you may need a sweater in the evenings, especially at higher altitudes. These months are also marked by gusty winds, which blow in dust all the way from the Sahara (Dec to Mar)
